Hey guys,

Lazy day working on games when I get a CL alert on a cheap 4 Slot Neo Geo. This game is on the short list of games I have been looking for and I figure at this price, I can't lose. Cant really tell much from the photos, but he does mention "2 new screens" which sounds odd. I give the guy a call and luckily I am the first one to commit. Drop what I am doing and make the 45 minute drive to his house...

I pull up and he has the game in the back bedroom. I ask him what he means by "new screens" and he points out 2 brand new 25" CRT boxes in the corner! He still has the monitor that came with the game and I ended up with 2 NIB Nanao-26SU 26" monitors as well! :)

The game has a dead power supply and I need to figure out how to wire the new monitor in, but it was a pretty good score for $200 total!

I shot a quick pickup video as well. Game is in excellent condition aside from the dead power supply and the need for a new CPO. No water damage or broken areas at all! Included 4 games, original manuals, etc...

Nice Neo!

First thing to do is pull that board, and check for acid damage around the battery! Don't let it sit if it hasn't been replaced, as it can do a lot of damage.

Nice score. I love my 2 slot even though it's in a converted bad dudes. That one is much better. Didn't know you needed the hinge, I have an extra

Thats pretty awesome. All told that seems like a 'can't go wrong' deal given the value of the component parts, games etc.

Excellent deal! The dedicated NEO 4 slot for that money is a great deal all by itself. 2 NIB 26" monitors, that's gravy.

Wow, that is a great score for all of that. I would have probably done the same to check it out for $200 ignoring the "2 new screens". Getting 2 brand new screens is awesome. Good luck getting everything working.

Awesome pickup, the nanao is a nice score seeing as they are dual res. Like other have said get that battery out asap even if there is no damage

and if it hasnt, cut the old one off anyways.
I dont even think i use a battery in mine.

Thats a nice score..

Thanks guys. Definitely going to cut that battery off this morning. I believe I have the wiring all sorted out, now I just need to wait for the new PS to come in...

I need to stop buying games! lol

Nice score. Yours has the stainless CP (which I like) or that might be a replacement. You might have a converted mvs-2-25 because the mvs-4-25 has memory card head phone jack in the CP vs mvs-2-25 where the pcb memory and jacks attach directly to front of cab just below cpo. I couldn't tell from video.

Either way nice pickup.

Yeah I don't have the memory card slot in the front. The control panel looks to be original and I did see a few others on Google with the same one. Doesn't look to be very common though as most I saw were black.

Hope to dig into it a little more today.

Bit of a setback this weekend. I pulled the boards to cut the battery and ran into this!

ARGH. Anyway, if anyone has a 4 slot Neo Geo PCB for sale let me know. Not sure sending this one out for repair is worth it since it has apparently been plugged directly into an outlet or something! :)

Damn that's impressively bad. I don't think that's really repairable but then again it depends on the state of the traces. Still a great score for $200 even for the cabinet and 2 spare NOS screens.

Looks like we know why the PSU is dead...

Since the values are listed, I'd clean that up and get $2 worth of resistors and solder that up.. Then a clean PSU and go from there...

It looks like they did their job to protect whatever it could.
