Scored 3 identical mini machines today for not a lot of $

Hey

I went to the local rubbish tip today, to buy a roller door (Salvage yard next to the tip)

I saw these 3 yellow machines, complete with insides except NO PCB, monitor is 15.75" (strange size)
I called Gibo to ask how much should I pay, and he said $300.00 to $350.00 is fair if in good nic.

I asked the lady how much for the 3 yellow machines, she said $50.00 bucks, I asked is that each, and she said NO, $50.00 for all 3

So $16.66 each LOL. I called Gibo back and he immediately offered me $30.00 :D

Looks like a rock paper scissors machine

Time to stick a 60 in 1 in them and flog em on the bay
Have to make some sort of control panel first

I got all 3 in my van with all the electrical gear as well. No way was I leaving them there and getting a trailer :haha2:

Yes, not wrong. Obviously the game earned very little, as it still looks newish in design

The monitors have VGA plugs, so a Jamma harness is only needed for power and buttons etc

Should be a good little project (or 3) :D

Aren't those ticket vending machines? I think I've seen those at Chuck E Cheese over here in the US.

Yes they are, with a game in them too

They are selling here in Au for $995.00

Still worthy of a conversion to an arcade game, small can be appealing

I will post what I do with them, I may consider making 1 into a Jukebox for the Karaoke hard drive

They kind of look like something I saw in Gameworks (U.S. based arcade/restaurant/bar). They are smaller and kid-oriented (for the little ones that are there before 10:30 pm) It's kind of like Pokemon with dinosaurs + rock-paper-scissors (you were corrrect dezbaz). You have to counteract another dinosaur's move with one of the 3 buttons. If you guess correctly, you win the move and continue with the fight until either you or your opponent are defeated. I only saw it being played, and it was years ago. But I'm pretty sure those are the same, or at least similar.

Hmmmm.... how about change the control panel slightly and install a Primal Rage PCB in each? The side art is Dino Duel, kinda works with the theme.

Reminds me of the game I picked up for the kids a while back. Same general idea I think. Its Rock Paper Scissors, just made into a video game.

Cheers Guys

I have a few 48 in 1's left over from an earlier project, so I might try and rotate the screen, at least on 1 or 2 of them

Check out the control panel, made from stacked timber and t-molding.

Makes it easy to re-make :)

Those are pretty neat.. but probably cannot be played as-is even if they had the boards.

Clearly a ripoff of Dinosaur King, and the whole series of RPS games that started with Mushiking & OShare Majo. All of these games were huge in Asia just for the collectable card aspect of them.. Looks like LAI was trying to hop on the bandwagon with those.

Taito ripped off Dino King as well with King Of Jurassic. All these games are from around 2004-2008. The Sega (and probably Taito) machines won't work without -- they give out one random card per game which the operator has to buy from the manufacturer, so these machines are useless once the cards run out. There is a RFID security chip provided with each pack of cards so you cannot recycle cards through.

Started stripping the old guts out today.
Old Wiring harness
Control panel
Monitor (See if it will rotate)
Excess stuff
Front covers

The monitor was 1/2 inch too big to rotate, so I had to de-case it. Made a few angled brackets

Fitted a 48 in 1, power supply and a JAMMA harness. Only hooked up the edge conn and the power supply for now, to see if the monitor worked

The screen was sharp, no that was good

Cut the bezel down with a hacksaw, and linished the edged, I am happy with the result. Bezel will be black

Control panel is started, drilled more holes and welded bolts on - more pics for tomorrow
