Got my scoreboard up tonight. Most of my high scores got erased so I'm starting from scratch. The few scores up now are from 1 quick game so hopefully they'll be much higher in the coming months!

You need a place for names or initials in case it's not you who sets the high score...

Yea, I really wanted a column for manager (me) and player scores but couldn't get it to work unless I take off half the games. Going to keep it as my scores now and let my friends put their scores on the machines.

The big plastic dog is Nipper from RCA.

I really like this idea. It looks so much better than the dry erase board I'm using now. But as others have mentioned, there needs to be more room for player names or initials.

Without getting into a costly and custom fabrication, is that as big as those boards come readily off the shelf?

I like it too. Know why? I like the high score thing, but I also like that it clearly lists (or can) every game you have in your arcade. Kinda like an archaic Excel Spreadsheet. My arcade is currently spread between 2 rooms, and people rarely go into the second room because they don't know what titles are in there, and are too lazy to look. Plus even I forget what games I have. Your scoreboard reminded me that I still have a Tut in the second room to sell. I am getting one of these.

Yeah, that's a sweet idea. I had an old white board I was going to use, but that looks much cleaner.

Yeah, it's got that sweet 80's cheesiness.

Where did you get it and what are the dimensions? How does it look in a dimly lit arcade? I plan to leave most of the lights off in my gameroom, just some ropelights, a little neon, and the games themselves.

I have a giant chalk board (magnetic from a pizza hut I used to work for) that I will be using for this purpose. I may have the game names put on magnets w/ vinyl letters or something and the scores will be in chalk. Yours looks great and official.

hey brett the scoreboard looks great!

I think you could probably fit everything (names + initials + scores) for all your games if you re-arranged the lists - just move all the short titled games to one side - get pooyan, kick, popeye, etc. on the left side and move stuff like asteroids, space duel to the right side. I'm sure you can squeeze a couple inches that way and make room for JAB, JMK, etc. because that's what will be going down, punk.

To make it look less cluttered find some yellow or blue letters for the initials.

Thanks for the credit but I steal all my ideas from early 80's arcades to make mine look as retro as possible. I scanned this pic from a 80's arcade magazine.

Search for Letterboards. They're expensive but very nice quality. Got mine here.
Mine is 24 X 36. I found one that was 24 X 48 which was perfect but too expensive ($400).

Not sure what I'm going to do about friends high scores. It'll make party's more fun having scores to go for.

Great suggestion Jean, thanks. I'll see what I can do and maybe abbreviate some titles.
