I have an old United EM puck bowler and the score reels don't advance correctly they appear to get stuck. If I reset the game a few times they eventually reset to zero. Just need a good cleaning? What is the best way to clean these things? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Take out the score reel and look for the end of stroke switch. Use a small bit of fine sandpaper, preferably flexstone, and clean the switch contacts with straight, even strokes. Check to make sure the reel closes the switch when it should. Hopefully it's just a cleaning or adjustment issue.

Pinrepair.com has some very helpful tips on how to clean EM score reels. I'm not sure if they cover United stuff, but it should be the same principle.

I have a Williams Puck Bowler and my 1up score reel sometimes doesnt land on 0.
Switches are adjusted perfectly, and clean.....confusing!

If your switches are indeed clean and adjusted properly (not buying this)....then the only other issue I can think of is the coil stop is broken and moving around. Each reel can be unlatched and pulled out for easy cleaning and adjusting. Make sure you have good tension on each movement of the switches. Then set each reel at the 9 position and start a game....each one should reset to the zero position each time.
