Hello, last night the monitor in my S.C.I. started turning itself off then back on repeatedly.

Almost as if its power source wasn't supplying enough.

Any reasons why this is happening all of a sudden?
Thanks,,

What type of monitor is it?

Was it just the monitor or the entire game?

Could be lots of stuff - cold solder, bad part, bad connector, interlock switch, etc...

Its a sharp image. The only numbers I see are G-A48ACBO2X

Its just the monitor, but the game resets every time as well.

I have pictures in my photo album.
I also posted them in a previous thread pertaining to a Horizontal issue. When I would unplug the monitor only, then plug it back in, the horizontal issue would resolve. I knew that something was going wrong, but just couldn't pinpoint the issue.

Thanks!

When I got the game, everything was ok. But If I were to shut it off, then back on, the monitor would have what looks like blades. Kinda like a horizontal frequency issue. But when I disconnected the monitors power, not the entire cabs, then reconnected the power to the monitor, it corrected itself.

Now, the game comes on as usual, but resets occasionally witch in turn causes the monitor to do the blade thing.

The machine doesn't turn off then back on , its like its resetting itself like 3 or 4 times every minute or so.

Hope that helps.

Ah, that clears things up a lot! Your monitor is in all likelyhood just fine, and you have a board issue (or wiring/power, let's cover all our bases here) that's breaking h-sync output (and probably causing the resetting too).

-E- Rereading that, sounds like it could just as likely be an issue in video input (low voltage logic stuff) on the monitor that's crashing logic on the game board, perhaps a shorted pulldown resistor? If you have a scope, I'd take a look at what's going on on the video signal wires.

Interesting... I'm not sure what a scope is.

Would that also cause the very top of the games image to slant to the left a little?
I know that when I shifted/ adjusted the video image to the right, that went away.
