School me up on an entry level Pinball machine.....

So I'm thinking I need one fairly nice pinball machine for my minicade. I'm thinking something that is in the 600 dollar (roughly) range.
I know I don't want some old 1970s machine with the mechanical scoreboards. I would like something newer that would be easier to maintain.
I have seen Raven's pop up from time to time, I have considered a Space Shuttle pin, and I saw someone talking about Lethal Weapon 3 pins being good for a budget.
Any good ideas I should keep in mind? Machines to look for?
Oh, and what is a System 11 machine?

I would save a bit more and up your budget to the $1000-$1500 range.

I would go for DMD titles from the 1990s.

Jungle Lord

I had a Jungle Lord in the house I lived in during college and we loved it. There is one for sale in Lexington, Va for $650. This is from mr pinball classifieds. He also had this in a second older posting with good reasonable machines.

Jungle Lord, 1981 Williams: $650 obo
Playfield is in overall good condition, cleaned and shopped. Machine works great. backglass is not the best. Pictures available.

Basically anything around '79 and up would put you away from the EM machines.

Time Warps can be had for relatively cheap, and Sorcerer used to be cheap when I got mine back in 2006, not sure what it runs today.

I'd check your local craigslist ads on a regular basis. Deals come up but you have to act quickly.

Another good source of pin deals are smaller route operators. Every pin I currently own came from a route operator and they were all astoundingly cheap.
