I recieved this monitor that is not supposed to be working at first hoping that I could swap the tube with a K7000 that has a bad tube in it. (still looking for a good Daewoo for a tube swap for that one)

It's not supposed to work and the previous owner applied some caps to it and maybe even a new flyback. I have not even plugged it yet mainly cause I'm trying to figure out the power plug even on this one. So the white and the black were removed from the 3 wire connector that has a ground going to the frame. (obviously cut off)

Looking on the chassis it even reminds me of my K7400 that doesn't need a ISO Tranny. How would I connect a new power connector to fire this puppy up for testing?

I'll double check the caps before I fire it up cause I saw in a previous post that there are differences between it and a K7000 cap kit. 4BP caps in particular.

Got Power?

It's actually pretty clean.

I don't have any symptoms on what's actually wrong with this but I don't even want to plug it in wrong off the bat. I'd get back with symptoms once I get that far.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Yeah, I've seen this loads of times. Later in life Wells Gardner starting using a 3 pin molex connector for its monitor connections. Those white and black wires were once mounted inside that 3 pin connector that the green ground wire is still sitting in. You should be fine to wire the white and black to a regular monitor plug from an existing cab to test the monitor.

If you need a plug, let me know, I'll dig up the part numbers for Digi Key.

Cool, ok standard cab with an ISO tranny then.

I just used my last spare plug I had from bob last night to finish up another chassis I was working on, LOL...
Having the ground on there makes sense so that all three are disconnected at once but I'd rather keep it matching with all of my other cabs so I can interchange monitors easily.

I'll order more from bob. I have a list of other stuff already.

093 Plug & receptacle 2 pos w pins & sockets (Monitor AC) $1

Yeah, get a bunch. I ordered a dozen from Bob last fall and I ran out quickly. Especially after hitting a huge collection of games that needed work.

Always good to have a bunch of these on hand.

I only ordered 2 last time... getting 4 pairs now... it's cool he gives you the male and female for just a buck!

The tube looks so good on this monitor I hope I can get it working.

The red wire that goes to the neckboard was cut off. I need to find something to patch that back in.

Weird, the monitor in my Multi Williams IS a 7200 with a Daewoo tube from a 19 inch TV. Do any other tubes work for those monitors? That combination has a great pic:

what TV and tube numbers did you harvest from?
My 19" K7000 is a CR31 type neck and this is K7201 is the fater one like a CR23.

Here are the tube specs:

Monitor (WG-7201) Date: 2001
A48JLL40X46 (Q)
71251356
8 pin neck

Donor Tube (Daewoo 19 in TV) Date: 1995
A48JLL40X (w)
35116543
8 pin neck

thanks, I've been looking for Daewoos that had the A48JLL40X thinking that it would work in my K7000 with the thin neck tube (CR31) but it looks like it won't work then.

For the record, any CR-23 necked tube should work.

Also, the 7201 does not need an isolation transformer, but can be used with one with no problems.

If yours is dead, follow that thread of mine you linked...

Man, you would THINK that, but boy oh boy, have I seen some crappy tubes in my days of tube swapping. Some tubes just don't play well. I have verified heater voltage, neck pinout, tested them on sencores and B&K rigs, and still they look like crap, even after convergence attempts and the original yoke coming with the chassis.

Phet, that tube is GORGEOUS.

.

True. I have some newer tubes that just wont converge properly with the G07 yokes, and some that won't focus fully with the 4600's...

I was actually talking about tube swapping for my K7000 with the CR31 neck. That tube is out and I have been trying to figure out what would work with it. All of my K7000 19" monitors are with the CR31 type neck and I have one with bright colors but heavy burn. This one with the nearly shot red is the one I'm looking for a compatible TV tube for it.

I've got a TV at home I picked up from a Goodwill that has a CR-31 neck, so they can be found...

OK, I'll try harder! I was hoping to find one that I wouldn't have to swap the yoke on... I haven't even tried to Ohm out a yoke yet.
