OK heres the short version of this story:
- sell my boss a gt05. works perfect.
- boss decides to upgrade to complete.
- we find a local dude who works for it, sells us a "good" complete greenboard and drive.
- boardset problematic from the beginning, graphics issues cold but better hot. Very obious hot air rework reflowing done on this board.
- swap hard drive and same result.
- +5 verified good at 5.1 at all times.
-cleaned all edge connectors etc. this is not a simple fix.
After several calls he admitted the boardset is faulty but "i dont have another green one right now"
Hmm ok. Yeah let me pay you $400 and have nothing here lol f-that.....
- I take a red board, and swap out power supplies. Again OBIOUS hot air rework done to this board. This board works but has funny ghost yellow lines in all the greens. My boss decides he can live with this minor issue as long as the boardset keeps working otherwise.
-board works for a couple weeks and now keeps freezing and locking up with all kind of weired graphics issues. fan still works on graphics card.
- recheck +5, again, constant at 5.1 before and during game lockup. SOmetimes gameplay just locks up with good graphics, can hear birds chirping etc but no inputs work.
Basically i can can put his original board back in, all is well.
SO im to the point where i think this guy fucked up pretty good.
I still have his good green board. If it possible to swap a couple "complete specific" chips from the red board onto the green board we have and "make" a good working complete board? If so, which ones?
