So I have a chance to pick up a dedicated Cinematronics NAUGHTY BOY. I had never heard of this game, and when I first passed by the cabinet I assumed it was some shitty conversion game. After some research, I realized that this was a dedicated cabinet licensed from JALECO. Obviously, it isn't as cool as some of the earlier cinematronics vector games, but as far as fun goes - it looks pretty neat!

I'm not opposed to owning really obscure games as long as they're fun, but if I were to decide to sell this down the road, would I be able to find a buyer? Is anyone out there looking for a game like this? I owned a Pirhana for a time, it was really rare, had an awesome cabinet, and was hard as hell to beat, but when I tried to sell it, I couldn't find a buyer and had to sell it fully working for $100. If I buy this game, will I be stuck with it?

Here's the only picture of the cabinet from the OP's place I took during my recon mission:

My two cents on the game is you would have a hard time re-selling it...you might eventually find someone looking to add it to their collection if they are Cinematronics Collector ..but I've seen a few really nice ones that people couldn't even get 300 for...

I actually wanted one to add to my Cinematronics lineup but haven't found one local..shipping would be more than game is worth and thus not worth it...FYI..if the sideart is fully intact it would add a tad more value and be something a true Cinematronics Collector would want if they did buy it....

Its another one of those obscure games that really has limited audience..I don't really think the game is all that great either from my own experience.

It is definitely an obscure game, and doesn't have the best gameplay. That being said, I would love to pick one up if I was closer as it has a sentimental value to me being in a local gorcery store I was always at as a kid.

I think the strangest thing about this game is that there are a number of bootlegs of it and its not a very good IMO.

The idea was a good one. A naughty boy who throws stones, however either budget or hardware restraints made it into some bizarre fantasy type game with ghosts and dragons.

He should of been chucking rocks at the windows in houses or at moving traffic.

There is a huge disconnect between what the game implies and what you actually are doing.

Basically it is FrontLine but all you have is a grenade.

I don't know what people are talking about. I got one in a trade off Tbbk a while back and I love the game. It's definitely got a learning curve but it's fun. I would play it more than other games when Tbbk had a party and he barely touched it so I snagged it off of him. Plus I like the name. With the right row line up I can deliver a suggest meaning via game marquees which suits my dirty sense of humor.

I agree that you will have a hard time reselling it though. I'd play it on mame for a while and see if it's anything you would want to own. The sideart looks to be missing on that one just like it is on mine unfortunately. I do believe I have seen repro side art for it available. The other artwork looks really nice.

I learned my lesson on centuri the pit. If your not sure what it is and even if it looks nice, you should probably pass. If you get naughty boy, I doubt you could sell it later on for $100+. Now if you gutted it and made it 60 in 1, you probably could get something for it.

I would say leave it unless your getting it for $50 or less. Then you might get a good monitor out of it you could use in a keeper game. Toss the burned in pac monitor in it and pass it along..

if your going back, grab the green taitio cab and galaga. Somone here was looking for a dedicated world series, so maybe thats worth saving.
