I've been offered a couple candy cabs. I have never dealt with these machines before, nor know anything about them really. They're Blast City cabinets, one is all original with no game kit, and another has a replacement CRT that I guess "doesn't sit flush" with the cabinet according to the seller. I have not seen them, but I am under the assumption they are in routed and rough shape. The asking prices are $900 and $500 respectively and I have no idea if that's good or bad. What should I expect to pay for a halfway decent candy cab?

There isn't much love for Candy Cabs around here but they have a strong following with the 90's fighter guys - the NeoGeo and arcadeotaku forums especially. There are lots of people complaining that they are impossible to find unless you are on the west coast where lots of them got imported. I see clean ones sell pretty regularly for the $500-700 range around here.

The Blast City are the more desirable of the candy cabs, they have bigger marquees and monitors. They can be set up for one or two player control panels. The best way to play them is two linked cabs with one player controls so each person has a 29" monitor and control panel all to themselves. My son and I had a great time playing Street Fighter IV on a linked pair a few years ago.

If these are routed and the plastics have yellowed his prices might be a little high, but there are tons of people away from the coast that would pay a premium just to get one.

Do you have pictures? I have a couple of Blast Cities and paid $500 and $750 for mine a few years ago. Depending on the shape and location they can go for upwards of $1500, especially on the east coast.
