I just picked up an empty cab the guy had MAME running in it but said it originally had some kind of kiddie game that gave tickets. You can see the dollar bill validator and a hole where the ticket dispenser was so I assumed he was right. It is super clean, and upon inspection looks like it was a more modern/custom build. Everything inside is labeled and looks like it was never a jamma machine, looks like it was PC based.

Anyway, it has a 19" CRT which is nice and bright with remote board for adjustments so I assumed it was CGA. Getting it home I found it's a VGA Eygo CRT. I have several old VGA PC CRTS I've stashed, what's the difference between this and them?

I hooked up a PC to this and see it won't do even 800x600 so I guess it is low res. Do they do 15k natively?

Thanks

VGA is 640x480, SuperVGA is 800x600 (at least as far as computers are concerned).

I believe 24khz may be the frequency. 15khz is CGA (standard res).

24Khz is considered EGA resolution, at least in computer monitors.

If that is the same Egyo VGA I have, it only does 640x480.

The frame, mount, remote adjustment board, neck board...

The chassis looks like attachment 2

while most of the PC monitors I've seen look like attachment 1
