I'm cleaning up and semi-restoring my RipOff. While I have everything torn out I thought I'd scan in the cardboard background. Mine is decent, but I have access to a quality poster sized printer at work that would make it even better.

Anyone have any tips on marking, or otherwise making the scanning in and then piecing together easier/better? There is a border that is about 1.5 inches with maybe a 1/2in of white that is all stapled to the inside of the cabinet. I could mark it there with a pen, maybe with a rules scale, or something. That doesn't work with the top/bottom and the middle.

Suggestions?

Bump?

No suggestions?

Last night I attached some white paper all around the sides/top/bottom. Then I attached a couple of pieces over the top of the colored gel piece where the monitor goes.

Next I drew 1" lines across and up/down. There are larger-than-the-scanner spaces at the top that I'll have to deal with. Maybe I can put a post-it note in the middle of that for reference.
