I need a backglass for my Data East Monday Night Football Pinball. My buddy has a backglass for this game, so I was going to bring it to a sign place, and have them scan it and just make a translite. But they are trying to charge me $150 just to scan it..and then atleast another $100 to print it. Has anybody done anything like this before, or have any ideas on what I can do? If you can help me or give me some info, that would be great, thanks!! Sorry if this is in the wrong section, if it is, can a mod move it? I am new to KLOV.

Those prices don't seem too far out of line. Does the $150 include touching up and repairing any defects in the art and color processing to ensure proper color match? That may be extra.

Does that include the artwork on the back of the glass to allow light to shine through only certain spots as per the original? Probably not.

Making reproductions can be pretty pricey. What were you expecting to have to pay?

ive done quite a few. 100 to print it is fair if the guy knows what he is doing and its a quality print. i had one done for a bowler, larger than a pinball.it was 100, but worth the money, looks great. i had a small job done and cheaped out on it, used an online printer. it looked like it was done with crayons, its quite possible to scan in sections and stitch it together with software. ive done that too. there is a quite a bit of a learning curve with stitching and art software, if you dont want to learn a new skill, pay someone to do it.

masking adds a whole layer of work and aggrevation, and quite frankly, the difference between masked and not masked its all that much. unmasked still looks better than a ratty orig.
