Just shooting this question out here in the monitor forum to see if I can turn up any information on scan converters. I've dealt with the GBS 8220 (v3.0) and I find it lacking in the supposed to be supported medium resolution feature. Either the game does not like it at all and I get no picture or you get very washed out colors with no hopes of adjusting them to normal colors. I'd have to say its only good for JAMMA games, but I've heard of some JAMMA titles not working well with it either.
What is out there that has been hand made, custom designed, or manufactured that works well with Medium Resolution games? Much less scaled to he or she's choosing?
I'm not saying at this moment that I'm after an alternative to a Medium Rez CRT monitor by replacing it with a LCD...........yucckk. I'm really after a way of designing a workbench monitor setup that will support more than CGA. Sadly the Samtron 5" deal that KLOVrs are here working on and designing to sale....well they are only CGA.........Yet we have LCDs that accept all 15Khz/25Khz/31Khz.....and that R360 "Wing Wars," Sega designed a scan converter that dropped the medium resolution game to a standard resolution for that 360 degree rotating cockpit......Whats the deal?
