Say hello to my Asteroids project!

While messing with the monitor cable, the dot became a line, and then when I messed with it again, it returned to a dot, but now is dead center on the screen. I think I am making 'some' progress in the right direction.

Ok it seems like you really want this machine going , and ill come out and say
it.. you are better off removing
all three sections (monitor, power and pcb) and sending them off to a member
to have repaired for a fair price.
Order a big blue cap, get new fuses .

A little bird told me andrew has some asteroids AR-1s (the power board above the pcb) already rebuilt .

I have talked with Andrew, and would love to go that route. His price is beyond reasonable. However, while I am happy with it - the wife is not at the moment. :(

I just sent him a second set of asteroids gear .. hes cheaper then everybody else
lol.
I think ive aquired like 5 asteroids machines this year, sold two.
but i like to sell them working.
Eldorado would have murdered my wallet .

I'd like to give Andy a shout out as well. Very awesome guy, responds to PMs blazing fast, keeps you informed on progress, and always ready to help. Stand up guy IMO.

Either route you go good luck man! You definitely need to research as much as possible. I've been tinkering with vectors for a solid 3 years and I still feel like a newb. Plenty of good info on these forums.

Can someone point me in the right direction here. I need to test the power supply but am having trouble finding documentation to show which pins should produce volts and which shouldn't. Can someone show me where i'd find that info?

Just to update - I was able to check the voltages from the power supply today. All is well. I did discover that a fuse had blown (I check them often, but not often enough....) and this allowed me to be able to test the PCB board properly.

I found 4 caps that were (apparently) not working. So I am going to look at getting a cap kit and we'll see what happens after that!

If you're not vending them, freeplay mode all the way. My asteroids deluxe is on freeplay and it has attract no hss or any bs.
