I have a theory about how to restore the art originally silk screened onto glass. It is to mask off everything that isn't black, spray a couple coats of black, unmask and touch up the other colors, then triple thick. Thoughts before I spray?

I have a feeling when you pull off that tape you will wish you never put it on... Probably going to take off more of the paint.

When I restored my 3rd QBert, I went and scanned the graphics, and fxed the problem areas on the computer. I printed it out on transparent sticker paper. It looks good.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. When I restored mine I made a paper template that fit the clear area. I used coins I think to hold the paper in place then sprayed the art area with triple thick. Then I used paint I color matched to touch up all the colors. When it was done I put the paper back in place and once again sprayed it with triple thick to seal the touch up work. Mince came out near perfect with the exception of the fact that my yellow color match was a little off.

I learned the hard way to be careful about that with a Ms Pac bezel. I was masking off the viewing area but got the painters tape too close to the edge and pulled up some of that super thin black trim. Luckily it was pretty minor. I honestly thought the Triple Thick I was planning to use was white and not clear so I didn't wannt overspray. Once I realized that I made sure to be careful and not worry about the little gap I had. It may be slightly "cloudy" where the gap was, but it beats risking any further paint loss. In the end the bezel is way better than it was and hopefully no more flaking.

I took the tape off that was masking where color would be, and will touch up with some hobby paint where needed. Luckily nothing else came off. I'll spray gloss black after, then triple thick. It's good to know there's replacement bezels out there, thanks all for the advice!

I'll post the steps as I make them.
