The original side art on a nintendo cab I recently picked up is peeling is certain spots. I don't plan on replacing it in the near term so I was wondering what people use to effectively stick back on the sideart? I don't want anything to abrasive incase later down the road I actually do replace the side art.

Since nobody replied, I might suggest a glue stick...they dry clear and most will not ruin the artwork plus it won't be impossible to remove down the line if you decide to replace the artwork.

Personally I've found that wood glue works excellent for this. Just apply the wood glue under where the art is coming up and smooth the art pushing the excess glue out the edges of the art. Have a damp paper towel and also a dry one ready and wipe the excess glue first with the wet towel then dry the area with the dry one. You should probably keep a little pressure with your hand/fingers to hold the art down so it doesn't come back up. Once the glue is in place and excess wiped away grab some blue painters tape and use it to tape the glued area to the cab so it lays flat where you want it to stay. Let it dry about 24hrs and then carefully remove the painters tape pulling at an angle slowly from the inner point of the art out toward the edge. So far I've had 100% success with this method. I know many people suggest using 3m spray on adhesive but the one time I tried that is effected the art and made a noticeable mark between the art that was still adhered to the cab and the section I re glued. I think it actually softened the vinyl and slightly warped it. Wood glue if applied correctly looks 100% original.

I have never tried removing art that i used wood glue on though so I don't know how much of a PITA it would make removing and replacing the art later.

I've used rubber cement with success. Apply a light coat on the cab and on back of the art. Let it dry, then roll back in to place smoothly. Don't do it wet, it won't stick right.
