Looks good. I pulled a G07CBO out of my future multi-williams and it's in bad shape. And I have to put my oinball machine together and see if it works. It's half-time for Pats/Jets.

Dang Goo Gone!

So the paint takes 5x as long to dry where the goo gone was used! I am just going to wait for that last coat to completely dry before I put on the last coat.

from the look of the shine it looks like you used an oil based paint? I find oil based paint takes the longest to dry 24 Hours +

Semi-Gloss Latex you can get away with putting another coat on after a couple hours.

Flat Black Rusteolum thinned with mineral spirits. Actually it drys in about 4 hours, but the top took overnight. I sanded and applied another coat and it looks good.

I hate latex paint, it always seems to peel when I use it. If I had a booth I would use automotive paint. :D

ahhh nice nice. Yes automotive paint is the best LOL

Looking good man. I love to see a Konami cab get saved from being destroyed.

For now it will be home to my Xbox 360, but I may reTurtle it someday, the artwork is just too damn expensive! I will be easy to turn back, just apply art, and find a control panel. All I am doing is painting it back and installing a SF4 marquee and building a Capcom style control panel top.

Both sides done...

Now I have the front and control panel box to paint. Then make a new top of the control panel. Anyone have a spare Konami control panel hinge?

The photos didn't come out all that great, It looks much better in real life:

The panel in the KLOV photo looks to be a different shape:

Although the cabinet looks the same. I just need the hinge, you selling? and how much?

Edit, on second look that panel is the same width as the cabinet, Simpsons control panel is wider than the cabinet. I don't think the hinge is the same. :(

I don't think I have a hinge, but I've got a panel you can have. It's got a hole in the middle for a trackball, but you're using this for mame anyway right?

Thanks, I am going to make a panel, and it will be just 6 button layout with my Xbox 360. I figure I can use any hinge or no hinge at all.

Got my Plexi for the Control Panel

This stuff is so cool, florescent red acrylic plexiglas. It picks up the light and glows on the edges. It super responds black-lights, I am thinking I am going to illuminate it with a few UV LEDs. The plan is to use Aluminum flashing on the CP and cover it with the florescent plexi. I originally wanted red anodized aluminium but after finding it to be REALLY expensive I came up with the idea of red tinted plexi. Then I stumbled on this florescent stuff and I had to get it. With shipping is came to almost $50 for the huge piece I needed. Check out the photos, you can see how this stuff changes color from pink to orange!

I think this is going to look awesome, I am going to install white IL competition stick, white comp buttons, with black embossed player 1 & 2 buttons. I am going to customize the Capcom button template to use more elegant font labels and print it in black on clear transparency paper and lay it between the aluminum and plexi.
