When I found this machine - the only thing that was original was the side art... It has been converted to a Neo Geo... No control panel, moitor bezel, marquee, board, power supply, wiring harness... nothing.
So the wheels started spinning - could I convert this game back to an original Arabian?
Where would I find the parts... its not a game like Donkey Kong where parts, art and boards/wiring is everywhere...
Well after having it for almost a year - my good friend Don1400 and I finally finished it today... (well I still want to repaint the coin door and would love to find a NOS CPO)
But I was able to piece together all the original parts from one side of the country to the other... and was able to get it working...
Arabian lives on...

congrats man it looks great, I would love to find one, not a common Atari game like Dig Dug,Centipede,Kangaroo in those style cabs.

hey thanks man
Game play is not that exciting - but hey.. cool cab.
I just love saving these converted cabs... and bringing them back to their original condition.

This is a picture of how I found the machine - you can see that the monitor had been rotated... And the only original thing was the side art

Let's see some pics of that Death race in the background, oh and nice resto on the Arabian too!

That's a really nice cab. I'm picking up a Kangaroo Sunday in great shape that looks pretty similar.

I never saw Arabian anywhere growing up. Gameplay any good?

No - its a sun electronics game - its awful
The only reason its cool is because you dont see them too often

I didn't think that was one of Atari's homegrown efforts as it didn't look their style. Never knew who did it though.

But hey, looks good in the home arcade.

Wow! Nice work. Oh and I have a NOS Arabian CPO :) My Arabian is HUO so the original CP is super nice so I'm not sure I'll ever install it. Maybe we could work something out.

(well I still want to repaint the coin door and would love to find a NOS CPO)

I hear the game sucks, but the artwork is nice.. really good package on that.

Did Atari at least design all of the cabinet artwork?

that is a good question - no idea. I wish there was more information on some of that stuff SOMEWHERE... like were there several revisions etc - what designs didnt make the cut? That would be interesting info for sure
