So Hanna Barbara has been releasing old video game cartoons from the 80s (and a lot of other awesome stuff too from the 70s and 80s) but no one is doing anything with the Saturday Supercade.

For those that don't remember it was a series of shorts with Frogger, Donkey Kong, Q*Bert, Donkey Kong Jr., Pitfall!, Space Ace and even Kangaroo.

I read an article here that stated that it might be coming out in the near future but that article was written 2 years ago.

I wonder if it won't ever get made because of licensing issues (like Batman from the 60s.) I've seen episodes of Supercade on YouTube. Does anyone know if there are bootlegs floating around?

Who knows? Maybe now with wreck-it-ralph out, someone will want to squeeze some blood from this old video game turnip and finally release it.

If I had the rights and there were licensing issues, I wouldn't release them. You couldn't convince me that there'd be enough of a market to make $$ after paying off Nintendo and others.

I have the Space Ace series on DVD. It is a burned disc, but then again, so are all the other ones you buy from Hannah Barberra. Bought it on eBay a long time ago. It is nice with an episode menu and everything. I have purchased copies of Dragon's Lair and Pac-man too.

I heard a rumor the reason there is no official release is because Nintendo holding back on the license for DK and DK JR.
