This and the power brick are the only original parts left in the game and the sideart was not recoverable.

Is it worth deconverting?

Currently it has Cabal (trackball version) installed. It works and the control panel overlay is really nice.

For the money youll spend on a boardset, complete CP, bezel, marquee, side art and whatever else it's missing, you might as well buy a complete game. The blacklight bezel and piece of trim above that are worth maybe $50, otherwise I see no value here aside from a monitor (assuming it works).

If you buy it and scrap it, I could use that trim piece. I'm betting theres someone else around here who could use the blacklight bezel.

Strip it for parts. The only way I would ever consider a project like this is if the game was one of my all time favorites and I didn't think I would live long enough to find one in decent shape.

But..... since this is a hobby decision and not a business decision, if you want to spend $600 and a significant amount of labor on it, go for it. The problem is, if you buy a parts donor, it will probably be nicer than what you are starting with here.

The whole thing works as Cabal (and nothing is missing for Cabal and the monitor works). I am thinking I will just clean it up the best I can as Cabal. I will see if there is some way I can cleanly eliminate the blacklight bezel/fixture and still have a good looking machine, perhaps maybe that way someone else can use it.

I have an aftermarket bracket on mine, I would swap it plus a little cash for the original. Ill probably be around Saint Charles in a couple months or so.

I say restore it! As long as it's not water damaged? It's a long project but one well worth the Journey if you do it right from start to finish. You'll be glad you took the time to do it in the end.

The very bottom panel was horribly water damaged (it was crumbling), but I am replacing that panel and it doesn't really have any other water damage.

Here is how it is looking now, down to the bare wood on the sides and the front panel.

It is a shame but I just can't see spending $600-$800 reconverting it so it is going to have to get fixed up as Cabal (what came in it).

Should I stain the cabinet or paint it (sideart is en route). I have light green and Mizzou yellow paint already sitting around (along with several shades of blue that just wouldn't work).

I have a bunch of extra hollow parts..

If you have an extra CABARET CPO, you would be a miracle worker.
Wish someone would repro that. Only have cocktail and regular upright.
Man I need one for the cabaret. Or, a nice Glass bezel that fits a cabaret.
