I have a Sanyo in a Mario Bros that keeps rolling vertically.

I can get it steady using the vertical hold pot, but eventually, it will start the roll again.

I have done a cap kit and replaced the hold pot.

The H Pot does in fact adjust the horizontal position.
The V pot, does not seem to have an effect on anything.

Is it probable if I replace it, it will fix this?
What type of pot is it?

I have some 30k and 50k pots on the way from Bob Roberts.

I really appreciate it dokert.

Are the pots on the remote board 50k?
I have some of those I could pull and swap it out right now.

This is definitely something with the monitor.

I replaced those pots and it still persisted.
I put my board in my popeye machine and it was fine.
I put my Popeye board in the mario machine and the rolling is there.
I can lock the hold in with the vHold on the remote board and it sometimes will be ok for a while.

If the machine is powered down and back on though, the problem happens.

Where do we go from here? I have another Sanyo I can get parts from.

Verify the B+ is stable at 108vdc after a 5 minute warmup period. Then tweak the H hold a hair, and test it again. Yes, I said H. hold. (Located almost dead center of the chassis)

Ok
Since my last reply I've replaced the filter cap now as well, D211, D212, and TR204, and vr403. I also replaced the pots on the game board with different new ones that arrived today.

STILL ROLLING!

The only thing I can say is the vertical pot on the game board and the chassis do not seem to do anything. They don't adjust the screen at all.

I have an almost new chassis and we're still not fixed. I'm going crazy here. I don't know how many times I've carried the monitor from the basement to the garage. I need to setup a workbench down there for soldering.

I have not, however this is what I've done tonight:

I had a monitor from a friend we believed to have a messed up tube as there was no blue.

I had previously taken its hot and flyback, so I swapped both from the chassis I've been working on over to it. I get it all hooked up and it works. but no blue. I try adjusting the neck board with no luck. I then decide, since I know this tube is fine, and the other chassis had fine color, to swap neck boards. This also doesn't help, and this monitor still just has no blue.

Could capping this chassis fix the lack of blue? Is a bad cap/cap job a possible cause of lack of a color?

I'll go give those a shot now.

While we're at it, do we have a source for that LA 1464 I need to try replacing next on the other chassis?

I swapped All but TR203, and TR252.

The spot for TR203 doesn't have anything in it, and I can't find a TR252 at all.

With that said, we still have no blue.
