I finally got around to pulling the monitor in my Xybots and realized immediately that it is not the original monitor. The monitor that wan in it was a Sanyo EZ 20 and it did not fit the mounting holes. So I am guessing the original monitor was either a 20" or it had special mounting brackets. I'll check the docs later tonight.

The question I have is, can a Sanyo take wall AC or does it need to have an isolation transformer?

The way it was installed was definitely not factory, it was just wired straight to the AC inputs on the switcher (also not factory, since it was just loose in the bottom of the box).

Thanks for any help.

Needs a 100V step down iso.

Thanks guys, I thought I remembered something like that. I am surprised it powered up at all. I found the docs and the original monitor was a 19" Sharp XM-2001N. So it must have had an extended frame to mate up with the original mounting holes.

According to the schematics, the transformer does put out both 120V & 100V isolated AC, but I am pretty sure the person who wired the Sanyo in went straight to the non-isolated wall voltage as it was wired directly to the AC input of the switcher. I'm surprised the damn thing didn't blow up on him.

OK. Well, know I now how to rewire it.
