I don't know how many times I've read about people breaking off the necks of monitors through various faults.

The cage on the 20-EZ goes around the back of the tube, protecting it. I've come very close to breaking the neck off of one of my monitors (oscilloscope fell over near the monitor), but the cage saved it.

Other monitor makers should have taken note.

Agreed. I hauled a DK on it's side in my old station wagon. The monitor shelf somehow shifted during transport, probably because I later found out the top mounting bracket was missing. The neck protection was resting on the cabinet for miles.

Acually that one had a Sharp monitor in it, but yeah, what a great thing for both brands to have.

Yeah, Sanyo TV's were crap. I wouldn't buy one of those for anything.
A buddy of mine was a TV repairman, Sanyo's and Sony's were the ones that always needed repair.

You've got to be talking about tvs from the late 90's and 2000's. The Sanyos from the 80's were awesome. So was Sony... the downfall of the quality of Sony is just amazing, in the 80's if anything said Sony on it it was about the best thing you could find. Remember their awesome component stereos? About the time the PS1 came out the Sony brand just started standing for "cheap shit".

I've got a game store: our display monitors are on all day. We use 13" Sanyos from the mid 90's. I've never had a problem with them, and they're on all day, every day. We've been open for 4 years, and before that used the same exact t.v.s at the flea market for 5 or 6 years. I don't know how you can get a t.v. much better than that.

I had a Sanyo CRT in the living room for years. 1990 model and it was still going strong when we upgraded. Because of that I got a Sanyo flat panel. Yeah it works but has it's share of quirks, and its only about 5 years old now.
