hey fellas, my DKjr monitor crapped out the other day :( at first it would display thousands of vertical lines as graphics, imagine the entire screen shrank down to 3/4 of and inch, and it was repeated on the screen like that about every inch or so. ( hard to explain) i could also see horizontal collapse roughly 3/4 inch on both sides. sound is fine , it plays like this so confidant PCB is ok. i left it on to get my camera and the monitor totally died. fuse is ok on the chassis, no neck glow.
occasionally when i power it up i see a quick flash in the neck and thats it.
i have attached two pics of any visual issues on the MB chassis. there is a wet oily substance on it around that little transformer. it this what a blown cap will do?
this is a untouched survivor machine very dusty , have ordered a cap kit, and have a new flyback from a DK machine ( new FB came with the machine)
cant get at it until the new year , but any comments , tips ect would be very much appreciated!!
i have brought a few WG monitors back from the dead , this will be my first sanyo.
P.S. all power checks out with 100V's present for the monitor and will have a new to me 200mhz O-scope here when i get back from holidays.
Chris.

well never did get any replies on this, and i dug around this forum everywhere for answers.
re-capped it with the delux kit, nope :( after that the b+ was at 120-122v DC and would not adjust at all.
did a b+ kit :( ( HOT, IC106, Q901, POT) nope, all that would happen was it would make that ceramic/cement resistor by the b+ test point hot as F&%K and nothing.
by accident i found out my B+ was shorting to ground. HOT in my kit was fuggered.
swapped HOT out and pre-tested it , things kind of getting back to normal , but B+ stuck at 120-122v DC. aarrgghhh!!!!!
super pissed , ready to through this fugging monitor in the pond i get my plastic adjustment screwdrivers out and start turning all of the pots on the chassis and when i hit the H-HOLD pot by the flyback , the flyback starts to squeal like a pig, i can hear the static forming and i have neck glow for about 5 seconds and B+ has dropped to 110v DC.
i ripped it apart againg for the oommppteen thousand time , pull the H-HOLD pot out, put a new one in and BAMM!! i am finally back in business! my picture is lcd sharp ( well not really but it looks good) the flyback is whisper quiet and DKJR is back in action!

great job... next time make sure to post in the monitor section because you will get a lot better response with help.
