Did you change the big filter cap on the monitor and adjust the B+? Also check the Vertical and Horizontal center pots on the Video PCB (VR1 &VR2).

It is a sync issue and the H hold needs to be adjusted as previously stated.

Yes, you should also check to verify that the B+ is at 108vdc.

Thanks Everyone! that did it! i also was wondering i have two different cap kits one from Zanen, and one from Twisted quarter. both list c201 as 100uF @ 16v but the manuel and cap i pulled both say 10uF @ 25v. is there a reason for the change? will it hurt the monitor to put the 100uf @ 16v cap in? Thanks again!

As a general rule, you can go up in voltage but should keep the uF rating the same when you substitute caps. That said, there were plenty of parts used BITD that have proven to be insufficient, and smart guys who understand how things work have come up with improved substitutions that keep things running longer and better. If both kits have the same cap, it's pretty safe to say that it's OK to use. Especially if it's a filter cap for power.

Interesting.

20EZV (R-B) Schematic shows 220uF 16V
20EZV (R-C) Schematic shows 100uF 16V
20Z2AW Schematic shows 10uF 50V

Those are the only caps I looked at.

All the EZV's I've ever worked on had a 10uf50V....or a 10uf25V. These were chassis that had never had a cap kit. Now, I've also worked on a few EZY's (the 120VAC counterpart to the 100VAC EZV). C201 on a Sanyo EZY is 220uf16V.

I know this is a old thread but I am working on a 20 ezy and the c201 that comes in the Bob Roberts kit is wrong. I ordered the ezy kit but it just says 20 ez on the cap kit package. Guess I will need to leave the old cap in for now.

I ran in to a second issue. Has anyone worked on a ezy before? Bob's sheet says I need a 220uf 16v at c202. On my board no cap is in the c202 location. I'm not sure if I should put on there or not. For now I guess I will leave it out and hope for the best.

Does anyone know or have a link to a ezy manual? I haven't been able to locate a ezy manual.

Thanks
