Sanyo EZ20 -- does this look like a cap kit would fix?

This is running on a playchoice with Ninja Gaiden. Just take a look and let me know if you think this issue would be cleared up with a cap kit. Looks like the sync is way off.

definitely a Hold issue. haven't mucked with one of these in awhile, I'm fairly certain I've had to do H-Hold adjustments, is there a V-Hold too?

if you don't have any issues with geometry or jailbars (doesn't appear to be the case), you could still benefit from a cap kit on there, often times it brings the colors back much like a K7000 would see. caps will not fix the sync issue though.

while you're doing that all up, you might as well adjust your Red Green and Blues on the neckboard to improve the white balance and adjust the Brightness(es) to where black is absolute black. check your B+ that it's at 108VDC (test point BJ).

I want to say of the 5 Nintendo monitors I have active, I've only done 2 audio amp boards. I also fucked up and only installed Bob's basic kits on the 20ZAW's thinking they were different than the 20EZ's in my PC-10, but holy shit what a huge difference in those before and after the caps I did change.

Cap kit won't fix that. Adjust the H Hold on the chassis.

I don't see a pot labeled horizontal frequency, or horizontal hold, is it the pot next to the horizontal width coil? There is another pot in the middle of the chassis next to an IC too.

Its in the middle of the board. I love it when they put adjustments in the middle of a high voltage chassis.. Or the G07 with the connector you cant get to without touching the voltage reg circuit..

Thanks! Is it the white nylon pot behind the fly back near on IC?

So I adjusted the pot as dokert suggested, but it did not fix the problem. It did affect the image though. It just wasn't able to fully resolve the problem.

I am going to try hooking the playchoice up to my dk monitor.

I connected the playchoice to my DK monitor and I get diagonal rolling picture, and then I connect the dk board to the playchoice monitor and I get the same crazy picture I got with the playchoice board connected.

So I have the cap kit now, and was able to try the Playchoice out on another 20EZV and the PC works fine.

I pulled the monitor this morning and discharged it and washed it with water and simple green. I have a big blower blowing on it now, and I will install the cap kit tonight or sometime soon. :p

One thing I noticed before I discharged the monitor, I could not turn the horizontal width coil with the tool from Bob Roberts. I worked fine on the K4600 I was working on the other day. This one is either seized up or there is something preventing me from turning it...

water

washed it with water?
i dont think thats a good idea,
and if done i would think youd have to let it dry 1 week or more
there may be fireworks upon power up

Do you wash the neck and everything with the hose? Looks nice and brand new clean.

The picture makes the flyback look a bit melted. Strange reflections on the top of it.

Sure did. As for the flyback, I noticed that too. I will check it out tonight.

Still works the same.

So I powered it up after leaving a giant squirrel cage blower blowing on it all day yesterday. Still "works" the same, possibly a little better.

Does this Flyback look OK?

Take a look, is it melted at the top?

Would that cause the problems I am having?

The tube is really noisy, you knot that high pitch whine that all CRTs put out? It is much louder on this tube.
