This is a chassis I fixed for a guy. Worked perfectly here. But once it was shipped it appears to be not working properly. No heater, but he says you can hear high voltage.

I know what I would do if it were here, but I'm not sure what suggestions to give to him.

I'd have him send it back, sounds like he may have cracked the board while installing it. The last thing you want is for him to be poking around and possibly messing things up worse.

My canned responce.. a little wordy but it covers the fragile point.
never fails.. constaly see this in the sanyo before or after repair. very common for the heater to fail after repair / reinstall if you dont jump those particular flyback pins. very small trace but it always opens up. so now i auto jump that.. lol thats all it is so dont loose sleep over it. i probably see about 50 or more cracked sanyo and polo boards a year from shipping or handling.

The Sanyo ezv is a very delicate monitor board.
Always ship, handle & install your board with extra care.
Pack with extra care use strong shipping box with lots of room in between chassis and box outer wall.
Especially take caution when plugging the monitor yoke back in place to the monitor board. This four wire plug usually requires some pressure against the board while seating the plug. I have seen numerous boards cracked from the force of the yoke plug pushing on the board.
The monitor main board is easily subjected to cracking as it is raised on pegs when mounted correctly in its chassis platter. The monitor can easily develop open solder joints that lift or break away from the solder mask from flexing.
Thank you!
