I've been told it's some sort of Molex connector. Anybody happen to have an idea what model #?

The exact connector used by Sanyo is probably not made by Molex. People just throw that term around for every type of connector.

That being said a Molex KK .100 will probably work and is probably what MikesArcade is actually using.

Thanks. I asked Mike's sales people and they said it is the exact connector pictured. I would even buy it from them but they want an arm and a leg for it. If I only needed 2 or 3 I'd bite the bullet but I'm looking for 50-60 of them. $4 ($3 per connector and $1 for pins) per connector is just robbery IMO. How much can the darn thing cost $0.25-$0.50?

I've found a few that would work but if possible I'd prefer to stay with the original ones.

What are you doing that you need 50-60 of them?

I probably don't need that many, but once I find them I might as well get extras.

Surprisingly enough these connectors were used for more than just the Sanyo's.

Last time I asked Dokert about this, he told me that it wouldn't be possible to find these proprietary connectors without jumping into a huge order for a custom run.

I'd love to find a current source of these connectors, especially the video cable ones. I could really use a few to make a monitor extension cable for my Nintendo work. Of course I could source an original cable and hack it up to add length, but that's just so crude.

Yup, exactly. I reached out to him as well. He was under the weather but said he may know who the manufacturer was.

They are Molex brand and they are pretty spendy, IIRC Jameco carries them.

Hey, looks like somebody's feeling better. Just in time to make yourself sick from eating ;)

I don't think either of the "big 3" (Jameco, Mouser, Digikey) carry them because I have gone through their entire catalog twice. Looking at both housings and headers.

I did notice on the back of the sound cable connector it says AMP, but the M has a small "squiggly" on it's first leg next to the A. Is this an Amphenol logo? I checked their catalog too but don't see this connector either.

Thanks Ken. I think as a last resort I would try these out. But if at all possible I would prefer to try and find the original "nintendo" connectors.

The originals also used a longer crimp terminal than standard Molex terminals.

This is why I simply use the brown housings and terminals. They work, they're widely available, and priced cheap.

Thanks. I ordered a couple to see if they will work on other parts using those connectors.
