i am doing a cap kit on a sanyo ez 20 monitor in my dk jr and have a question that i hope some one could help me with.as i was looking at the caps on the board i saw that c407 has a wire that comes out of the top of cap then to what it looks like the + on the board.the c407 cap that i got in my arcade shop cap kit is not like this?.

The cap on the board your referring to is an axial style cap and the one in the cap kit is a radial style it's fine as long as you put the + output from the cap to the + on the board.

C407 is a real common failure in those monitors. Someone probably replaced it with the wrong part - an axial capacitor instead of a radial lead. When you remove it, there will only be one lead coming out of the bottom - because the other one is coming out of the top.

Just replace it with the right part from the cap kit. They're electrically identical, just packaged differently - and the one that's in your monitor is not the part that is supposed to be there.

thanks guys.i will just replace it with what came in the kit.makes sence because the soldered area on my c407 looks like its not org.game did work/play just had jail bars, slightly wavy, picture was a little fuzzy and not that bright.also i think it was folded on the left.

cap kit victory!!! i think.just finishd the cap kit(25 of them)on my dk jr with sanyo ez 20 and no fires or poping.the picture is very nice with good colors there is one issue tho.the only thing wrong is at the far most left/right of the screen you can go off by about 1/4 inch(the screen).i adjusted the labled dials on the monitor board and its almost perfect just that 1/4 inch or so that you can go off into the black area.i am really just suprised it works at all since this is the first cap kit i have done.if anyone has any input on how i could fix the problem that would be cool.
