I just finished up capping my Sanyo monitor and i do have to say the colors look better, the jail bars are gone - but the left side of the screen is still messed up. It is all wavy on the left side (about 2 inches or so) and i know it's the monitor as i switched the board out with another working pcb. Also, i noticed the screen is shaky now too. Anyone with any suggestions? I also tried to work out the wave by adjusting the v-size/h-size NOTHING helps.

I would really appreciate ANY help, a flow chart? Anything.

Thanks in advance

There is no flow chart available.

Touch the 5 control pots on the monitor with your finger and see if the problem worsens. Most likely the pots are bad and need to be replaced. Bob Roberts has them.

Did you do the "regular" cap kit....or the "deluxe" that replaces all the caps? I don't know why Bob still sells the "regular". I've seen so many problems caused by the caps not in the "regular" version.

I would recap with a deluxe kit ( or similar) repot, and make sure you replace C606. 470uF 160V B+ filter cap. That should cure what ailes ya.

Before and after pics

The pic with the BEZEL are BEFORE cap KIT

Pic without bezel is after cap kit

I contacted Bob Roberts about purchasing the other caps to the kit, perhaps i should always buy the DELUXED kit for EVERY monitor

Try tweaking your horizontal hold pot. It is located in the middle of the chassis:

tried the Horz pot in the middle of the chassis, no luck it is at the BEST position in the pics. The other direction GETS totally messed up

I'd also check the two pots at the top of the gameboard...if not already checked. They have a tendency to break.
