I got a Donkey Kong machine that has been converted to 8ball action that is having a video issue.I attached a picture of what the screen looks like. I could use a little help getting this going. I want to replace the roms and turn it back into a DK but I want to make sure I can get the monitor working first.
Brief repair history.
Monitor was dead no video when I received it. F301 was blown and HOT shorted to ground.
I replaced the HOT and fuse and then I had just a thin verticle line of video on the vertically mounted monitor so I had verticle collapse.I found the trace was lifted and broken on C408 in the verticle transistor section so I repaired that and that gave me the image I have now.
I went ahead and capped it but that gave me no real change and I havent been able to adjust it to get any kind of stable image.
this is the first 20EZ I've worked on so I may be missing something obvious.

Check and adjust the horizontal and vertical pots on the dk board, looks like a sync issue. Move them a bit then turn the power back on a couple times.

Ok, I tried adjusting the controls on the DK board one of them shifts the image left and right but the other control did not appear to shift the image up and down as it should.I cycled the power a few times but still no change.I can pull the board set and Ohm out the Pots if you think that may be the issue.

Thanks Lyon,
That makes me feel stupid. I had adjusted that H-Hold control many times with almost no change.I had been trying to adjust it with an alignment tool and it was kind of scary because of its location. So I turned off the machine discharged the monitor and then adjusted it with a long small flatbade screwdriver the control was completely out of wack and after several trys I now have a perfectly stable picture.
Now it's time to order some Kong chips!
Thank you very much.
