I hate to repost, but I didn't get any responses the first time. I need some help. I just did a cap kit on the 20EZ in my DK cab, but it's having some color issues. I don't know if I screwed something up, or if I'm just missing an adjustment. The issue is that there appears to be a slight hint of dark blue behind the girders which makes the bottom of the oil barrel appear purple. It also looks as though Mario's feet are purple as he runs. Please HELP!

You might have a convergence issue.

Try this, turn the brightness up, the blue down a bit (on the neckboard), and maybe adjust the sub-brightness...

It looks like convergence, maybe you bumped a purity ring when you had it apart, look for a factory adjusted paint mark on them and see if one or more is slightly off.

Yeah, great minds think alike.. he beat me to the post.

Attempted to adjust the brightness and turn down the blue, with no luck. I need more info on these purity rings, as it looks like it is a convergence issue. I don't know how to adjust these. I do see the painted factory marks on them, but need to know how they should be aligned? I have three sets of rings. Each set has two rings and mine are all together. Is this the way they should be? I noticed when I pulled the two center rings apart, it fixed my purple issue on the oil barrel, but then I had the same issue at the top where it says BONUS. The previous owner had the back off of this game when I bought it and was turning every knob. I know every monitor is different, but can someone take a picture of theirs and post it so I at least know how these factory marks should look. Thanks

I have the exact problem on my DK as well and I'm sure its convergence..

I was just gonna live with it.. but! if a good step by step shows up, I'll try it too..

:)

After countless hours of fooling around with this monitor, I think I have finally made some headway. The bottom of the oil barrel is no longer purple. It was the middle set of rings that fixed the problem. The factory painted mark on the top middle ring now matches up with the bottom ring on the top and bottom set. I don't know if the top mark on the other two sets of rings are supposed to match up with the bottom middle set, as mine do not. I also have another issue that I don't know if it was present before I started messing with the purity rings. At the top of the screen, where it say 1UP and HIGH SCORE it looks like ORE of high score is a slightly deeper red. It is not real noticeable. I'm not sure if this came from me playing with all three sets of rings or not. Any help would be great?
