Hey all-
I recently acquired two Sanyo monitors, and I'm trying to make at least one good one out of the two. I'm starting with the one, and I'm using the wiring in my known working DK machine, that has the original working monitor.
Here goes-
I found the small fuse blown on the monitor chassis. I put a slightly higher rated fuse in, because thats all I had on hand (I know, I know.....it wrong). Fuse does not blow when I power the monitor up, but I see slight smoke from large 180 ohm cermaic resistor (R609). Check the resistor, and it tests good. I checked a few other things, and found that TR902 (2SD869)was reading shorted, I replaced it I fired the monitor up again, and I heard the high voltage kick in. No picture on screen, not even a glow of any color, but I could hear the high voltage. I then started to see smoke. It looks like it was coming from the flyback- I checked the transistor that I replaced just moments ago, and it was now reading shorted. Would a blown flyback cause this issue??
Thanks in advance!
