My sanyo 20ez is from a Popeye cocktail cabinet. I just re-caped the monitor to get rid of some crunching at top of screen (score and high score were crunched) and there was shaking.

After recap (Arcade shop extra parts kit) The screen is bright and no more crunching. But i get non stop rolling. Sometimes i can get it to sop for a bit using the V-hold pot, but it starts again. When i do get it to stop sometimes it's stopped with the screen split half way,

Test switch is set to normal. I've tested the Pots for v-size v-hold h-cent h-hold and they all seam to show proper resistance as i turn the pot, and hold that resistance were i stop.

The b+ is right at 108.6vdc (i adjusted after re-cap)

I re-flowed all my caps to make sure, Also ran some continuity checks,

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Hmm

I'm going through this right now with my 14" Atari Sanyo which is similar to this monitor.
Same issue. On my chassis there is a cap in line with the horizontal/vertical sync separator. I was advised to change this. I'm going to try. If this doesn't work, it's the
separator chip which is the culprit and will need to be replaced. I'll report back though.

So la1464 seams to be a hard chip to find.

I've tried B&D and BG and they say they dont have them. any suggestions?

Obsolete - no longer available - look for a donor chassis

OK.. I replaced the same chip and replaced the C166 1uf 50v cap. Still, slow roll. Someone must know the fix for this..

Look closely at the pots to make sure they are not broken, sometimes it is very hard to see when they are broken.

So i plugged in my DK monitor and it is fine so the problem is not with the Popeye board.

The DK monitor is a 20" and the cocktail monitor is 19" so i can swap.

I replace t204again to to make sure wasn't a bad part. same issues.. any other thoughts.

Fixed my rolling issue

Ok.. I think your rolling issue is isolated to your NP caps. Change them all. All of mine
were dry. On my Sanyo 14" monitor the NP cap that was bad was C162. This was the
cause of the rolling issue. Value of the NP caps are 4.7uf 25 v. Replace all of them and I bet your rolling issue will go away.

Yes sir. That fixed it. Wow i just replaced those with my cap kit. My guess was that my 162 NP from the capkit was bad.

Problem Solved!

Congrats!

Any chance you had a bad joint on that cap when you put it in the first time? It could be a bad cap, but they are pretty rare.

I'm going to say no. because a few days ago I was wondering if one of my NP's were bad and I swapped their spots with same issue.
