I am rebuilding a Sanyo monitor I just got and someone cut the grey power cord and spliced it back together. I could just create a molex connection but would rather just buy a replacement. Does anyone know where you can get one? Can I just get a two pronged cord from Lowe's and cut off the female end and solder it to the chassis?

That's what I would do. Just get a 2-pronged lamp cord and solder it to the PCB, as was done originally. (if I remember correctly, there are no connectors on the 20EZ power cord like most other monitors)

I used a standard lamp cord to replace the cut cord on mine. Works fine.

I would just wire it up to the existing cord and use some shrink wrap or something. There's a ton of solder on the end attached to the board and it looks like it would be a pain in the ass to remove it entirely.

cheaper yet find an old TV, radio, lamp, ect... and lop the cord off it and your good to go.

i have done that many times and its free.

Cool. Thanks for ideas guys. I will dig one up and do it on the cheap/free.

No more than any other solder joint; you just need to heat it until the solder melts. Although, with the old cord acting as a heatsink, I'd cut it close so it'll melt faster.
