Hey guys,

I picked up a Sanyo 20EZ, and it hasn't been powered on. I washed the tube and chassis, and I also recapped the chassis with the kit from APAR. Changed the HOT as well, and installed a new B+ pot, and filter cap. The chassis looks clean as a whistle, but before I power this up, I noticed that there's a missing component that left some burn marks on the chassis at PS601.

Both of my other Sanyo 20EZs have this part, so should I install one before I power this up? What's the part called, and where can I get one if it's required? PTH451? Some kind of a thermistor?

Can I power up the monitor or without this part installed, am I going to blow a bunch of stuff up?

Thanks!

I stole one out of another Sanyo 20EZ chassis. It had the PTH451C instead of the PTH451, so the must be the same. Anyway, I installed it in this chassis, and it fired up fine. I ordered a few from the link below:

Hopefully, this will help others in the future. When these burn up, the monitor won't fire up.

Thanks,
Jason

Ps601 is responsible for driving the degauss coil on startup I think. You can run the monitor without it, just won't have any degauss coil action.
