I picked up DK Cocktail that a great picture, except jail bars. It had a very loud hum, but still had all sounds. I usually have my brother cap all my stuff due to my extremely unsteady hands. He was out of town and the cap kit came in today so I decided to go for it. I replaced all the caps on the sound board, put it all back together and the hum is gone as well as the sound in general. I've got nothing. I checked all the plugs and they appear to be correct and all my caps look to be correct too. Anything else I should check. Oh ya, my image is lacking all color except blue. It's all blue. Hoping I missed something obvious that is easily correctable.

Since nobody has chimed in, the chassis will get capped and flowed this week. Haven't had time to check the manual, but is there a fuse that is associated with the sound?

if this is out of a cocktail then its not a sanyo 20ez and would likely be a 14azz or 14azw. please confirm whether its truly a 20ez or a 14. the 20ez audio amp has a couple connectors that can be plugged into the wrong headers so double check that. did you replace all the caps on the audio amp including BP/NP caps and also the two transistors?? did you use non-conductive thermal paste on the transistors and screw them down tight so they aren't lifted at their bottom by their legs?

Not sure which chassis I have. The pic is not mine, but looks to be the same model. I ordered a 20ez cap kit for the chassis and audio board from your site. All the caps matched on the audio board. I did not replace two transistors yet, because I didn't have any thermal paste on hand. I was hoping I would have sound and could replace those when the chassis was capped. The connectors on the audio board were stamped with the correct positions. They should be correct. What chassis do I have and do I need a different cap kit? I always appreciate the help and parts. :)

The picture/color problem corrects itself when I push on the cable that connect the monitor to the PCB. I'll flow that as well.

i would want to see your chassis because the one in the picture looks like a 14-EZZ which i have never come across one of those in person and as i recall it has about 5-10 different caps from the 20ezv.

As far as I can tell from the parts of the chassis that are visible without removing it, it's identical to the one pictured. Ill try and pull it next weekend and get some pics. I'd like to order the correct caps for this guy.
