Sanyo 20-Z2AW loses some brightness after being on for a few minutes

When I last adjusted the brightness several months ago, I did it while the game had been running for a while. But now when I turn the game on, it is immediately at the brightness level I adjusted it to several months ago, but then it soon gets dimmer (within 3 minutes after turning it on), and stays at that dimmer level indefinitely. It gradually gets dimmer during those first 3 minutes; it isn't instantaneous like flipping a switch.

107.8 VDC when first turned on. 107.7 VDC five minutes later and thereafter.

has it been capped?

has it had a new fly installed?

have you checked the pot for cracks?

the pot may be dirty.

try with the monitor off turn the brightness pot back and forth several times to clean it. then turn the machine back on and see if the brightness holds like it should.

do this with the sub contrast pot as well as it may have a problem also.

New flyback (Cinelabs replacement) and capacitors last spring. Hasn't been used a lot since then, but didn't have the issue at the time (not that I noticed anyway).

None of the pots are cracked, and I turned all of the ones on the remote board back and forth quite a bit last spring, and I just did it again with the brightness pot; no change.

Where is the sub contrast pot? Is it VR301 on the main PCB?

yes it is in the center of the chassis.

VR 301 is it.

if that does not work then you could have a cracked solder joint or a trace is cracked.
