I just picked up MB WB machine yesterday and upon further inspection I noticed the screen wasn't working from the top to about 3" down. I tried all of the adjustments I could think of but still can't get it to fill. Any help would be appreciated. I would swap with another Sanyo but this one seems to be different it has a degauss button installed, the chassis looks a little different and the monitor cable has more wires.

Sounds like a foldover issue. A cap kit should fix this up. I know there is 1 cap in particular that affects this issue... is it C306? Regardless, just cap the whole chassis and you should be fine.

I had a feeling it was going to be a cap kit like almost every other monitor issue but wanted to ask first. Thanks.

I'm not doubting this cap may be problematic at times, but I had a screen foldover shown here and when I did the cap kit, this is not one I replaced. My foldover was still fixed as shown here. In fact, neither of Bob Roberts 20EZ cap kit include this cap as a replacement.

Now I have seen this cap mentioned before as being the cause for foldover, so I don't take issue with what you say. But is this really the only foldover cap? Why is it not included in some cap kits. If it is important to replace this one, does anyone know why? If so, what's the rating on the cap. I'd like to replace it when I pull my monitor next, but would like to know the cap before doing so- so I can order it. Also if anyone has a complete cap list and corresponding replacement numbers, or knows where one exists, I'd like to get a copy for my own reference.

Sorry to sorta jack this thread, but I figured it may help you as well.

You don't need the degaussing button anyway. You have a Sanyo 20EZV model - slightly different from the 20EZ. Such as degaussing button and the 110 connection to the board isn't a straight 2 prong plug. If you are fortunate enough to have two complete monitors swap it out. If you only have chassis' to swap you're still golden!

I have another 20EZ chassis. Isn't the video input different or was I just seeing more wires?

No problem. Your post was great it included pictures of what I'm taking about and brought up a good question about the specific "foldover" cap and where to obtain a complete list of caps for the monitor. I know Lizard Lick Amusments has a list on their site but it isn't as complete as a list from say Bob Roberts.

To be of a little further help, here is the cap list for Bob's standard "NINTENDO SANYO 19" COLOR MONITOR 20-EZV. This is the kit I installed and it fixed my foldover seen in the pics.

C302- 1uf50v
C453- 1uf50v
C408- 1uf250v
C467- 1uf250v
C301- 10uf50v
C303- 10uf50v
C406- 10uf50v
C407- 10uf250v
C471- 10uf250v
C464- 22uf50v
C458- 47uf10/16v
C459- 100uf16/25v
C410- 100uf160v
C472- 100uf160v
C469- 220uf25v
C468- 330uf25/50v

Again, no c306 or c307 and it still solved it. But this list only replaced some of the caps on the monitor, leaving still quite a few untouched. Which leads me to wonder if any of those ones not on the list can also give problems.

Mikesarcades kit comes with 30+ pieces.

And the extra wires - there is a power lead (either red and white or red and green wires) that plug into the inverter board for power. The inverter board sits ontop of the flyback cage.
