So this Sanyo was having sync issues and I went to adjust the H Hold pot on the main monitor PCB and now the screen does this . Also when I go to turn that pot the picture will turn off , screen goes black , but the monitor is still on .

First, make sure that you didn't bump the service switch just to the left of the H Hold pot.

Next reflow the solder for the two vertical transistors that are mounted to the two silver standing shields.

Are they tr402 and tr403 ?

Wow I never had to discharge a monitor so many times , I did it four times a couple minutes apart and got a small pop each time .

Like I remember that shit off the top of my head.

Yeah, that is them.

haha of course you do because your , Super Dokert to the rescue , able to recall monitor schematics at a single bound !

I reflowed solder to tr402 , tr403 and the H Hold pot and it worked for a minute or two but then went back to a vertical line . I was also having problems earlier with the V Hold so I replaced the pot and was still having that V Hold problem as well .

Whats the next step ? Cap the monitor ? Should I replace those transistors ?

Do a cap kit first, but don't be shocked if you need to replace one or both of those transistors.

I went to replace the transistors like you suggested and theres no Mica insulator . They used the paste but no insulator . Do I have to use a Mica insulator ? If yes , where can I get them ?

So after doing a cap kit and replacing those transistors the monitor works alot better , but it still slowly Rolls to the right when you first turn on the game for a little bit , then it stops usually into place . But sometimes when I'm playing it starts to want to roll very slowly to the right again but then usually goes back into place . So some type of minor sync issue going on . I have replaced the V-Hold adjustment pot . I'm having a tough time getting the colors right , there seems to be alot of bleed from the Blue , any tips on getting the colors right ?

Looks like your convergence is off.

Also, doesn't DK have sync pots on the board as well? May want to try those.

Yes, the convergance is off.

No sync pots on the boardset.

adjust the h hold just a hair, and it should stop your roll.

So its the Damn convergance . Looking at the Sanyo manual , the middle rings control the red and blue , so it doesn't look too hard to adjust .
As far as the Sync , it seems like it always needs an adjustment of just a hair to get it to hold . The other Sanyo in my DK Jr is the same way .

man I want to come over and help to learn to do it also.
I have a couple of Sanyo monitors I want tuned perfectly.

I read somewhere Dok that you take the monitor out and put it on a stool so its easier to adjust . So I did that and got the Blue and Red looking better . The middle of the screen is perfect but the red and blue on the sides are still a little off , but I can live with it . I put some glue on the rings so they won't move around anymore . I'm happy I finally have a DK !

Yes, I do. I am not very flexible any longer. I also use my wife to my full advantage too.

I tried having my Dad help me a couple times with getting the colors on the monitor right , but he starts playing the game and becomes hypnotized and I call out from behind the game " How Does it Look ?" and hes like , Uhh.....Uh.....yeah ....uh....turn the knob more....uh....hold on I'm about to die......Ok....yeah....blue looks ok I think.....uh....hold on I'm about to beat the level......
