Hey all-
I decided to dig out one my spare monitors, and see if I could get going. I found a few bad parts, and installed a cap kit. Fired it up and it now has a nice picture. Here are the issues-
1-The B+ is high- it's sitting at 120VDC, with the pot adjusted all the way down
2-The screen shakes/ shrinks when the volume is turned up

Anybody know where I should look?

Thanks-
Mark

Yes

Turn the Brightness pot on the fly down, and adjust your sub-brightness up in order to get your B+ down to 108vdc.

I think I detailed this in the flow chart that I made and posted for everybody.

Dokert-
Thanks for your reply- I did try to adjust the brightness on the flyback and using both trim pots (one on chassis, and one on adjustment PCB) I could not find any settings that would bring the B+ voltage down to 108. (It seems to be stuck at 120 ish) In fact when I turn the brightness all the way up on the flyback, it drops to about 118. Any ideas on this?
I also have the issue with the sound causing the picture to shake and shrink. The sound will cause the sceen to shake and shrink to the beat of the music. It's very noticable when the volume is turned up high. If you disconnect the unamplified signal coming into the amp board it disapears.
Thanks-
Mark

Usually if it won't come down Q901 is bad.

The sound, check to make sure all of your connectors are in the correct locations. Providing that they are, most likely your adjustment pots either have cold solder joints, cracks or are bad.
