NEWBIE ALERT! This is my first arcade project. I've totally been doing it by the seat of my pants, learning as I go, so my lack of know-how and common sense with things definitely will show. Take pity!

So I hastily bought 2 Sanwa joysticks for my 19" capcom cabinet (originally magic sword) and after starting to install them, I quickly realized the mounting plates on my sanwa joysticks I have, do not even remotely line up to the ones already drilled in the CP (and the custom plexi glass I had made for it).

here's some reference images to my problem:

My Control Panel (Before I stripped it to the bare metal)

The metal CP has the square style 4 hole mounting for an american style joystick.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can go about getting these installed easily? I don't have the tools necessary to drill new holes in the metal CP, so I'm ideally looking for a solution that allows me to use my existing holes, and mount the sanwa joysticks.

Thanks!

Sanwa JLF joysticks have a Japanese mounting plate bolt pattern and your cab uses the American standard mounting plate.

Best thing to do if you want sanwa joysticks in your american cab is to buy Sanwa JLW joysticks. They have the american standard mounting plate.

Only buy JLF's if uou have a Japanese metal control panel. Like Candy cabs, or metal Nintendo control panels.

nevermind, just did more research and realized they're not backwards compatible. Dammit, lol.
