After performing a cap kit(all 23!!!) and resoldering some cold joints, this monitor is still performing exactly as it did pre-cap kit.

This is what I see via a fully functioning Ms Pac PCB.

It doesn't roll and adjusting the Horizontal Hold does nothing...it seems like the picture is chopped up in lines. Also it does the same with any PCB tested on it. All voltages are testing within range.

I'm just at a loss and now have over $100 invested in this monitor($75 for the junk cab it came out of and $20 for the cap kit[I know...welcome to the hobby, right?]) that seems to be ripe for the trash heap. Can anyone help with this one? I really need a monitor to get my Ms Pac going and have found none locally which is why I have invested so much time and effort into getting this one going.

Thanks in advance,

come on over to chillicothe this weekend, bring your monitor and we'll troubleshoot it...if we can't fix it, i have a few working 19" monitors

I finally found the culprit.
For anyone else having issues like this, replace your Horizontal Hold POT....it's amazing something so simple alluded me this long.

mudhens: I'm definitely interested in one or more of your monitors but need to acquire some extra funds to purchase them. I have a few more projects I want to work on and with zero supply of monitors around here, I'll definitely be making a trip down to see you soon... :)

The only problem I'm having now is a small purple arch remaining on screen after I turn the monitor off, but I can live with that until I fix it.
