This afternoon, while waiting on a Crystal castles, i was 'bored' and decided to use my last run of atari tmolding on my Tempest. That came out ok.

Now, the CC gets here and the game could use tmolding - its a bit scratched up.

Instead of waiting on new tmolding - has anyone had any luck with sanding out scratches on tmolding? If so, what grits did you start with, end up with, and did you hand job it or machine buff?

Thanks.

lol. Love your response....

Just want to know if anyone tried to "restore" / buff out scratches on tmolding before. Sure, i know i can order it new.... not being cheap, more like impatient to wait on a new batch.

I am going to go for it and post before / after pics. Couldnt take more than an hour to sand it down. I think it may work......

In my experience, T-molding scratches too easy anyway. Its soft and if you were to start sanding and buffing it, for all the time spent doing that, you might as well have placed the order and waited for the new!

In the end, I don't think you can, or want to do this...

Sanding and buffing plastics is all good. But Yeah I'm thinking that T-molding may be to soft to smooth out. You might try starting with a 400 or 600, then work your way up to 2000. With it being rubbery plastic, you might have to use water to keep the paper gliding, and from gumming up.

Well, i always keep grits on hand (80 up to 2000). I spent the entire day on the machine, but havent yet gotton around to the tmolding. Maybe tomorrow (or i will just place an order for a new set :) ).

I think it can work - but time consuming.
