San Jose Auction Thread

True, I may just sell the boards and Mame it out as its not a dedicated cab. Need something for my daughter really and the extra $$ would be nice.

Theres some pins on CL right now, Bride Of Pinbot and Black Hole for a grand each, and a Spy Hunter for 800.

Damn. I just bought a working boardset on Ebay. It was $26 + $12 shipping. Is it a Konami board? If you want to sell it, my buddy at the auction will want it.

I thought of wearing my SPy vs Spy shirt but decided i probably didnt want to be the guy who only wears that shirt at ever auction. maybe i will wear it, though, it depends on how late i stay up drinking 3 Stooges beer and playing Warcraft 3. last auction i got 3 hours sleep before the 6am drive.

True, but getting the money tomorrow would go nicely if there is a 720 there

Plus with xmas and all even if there isn't. Damn women.

Dekdek! I may be able to go to the auction afterall, if you are serious about transporting and holding a game for me! I'll give you first crack at any 720's! I'm not picking up those games until 4:30 in SF tomorrow, so I could go to the auction and if I get a game send it home with you and come pick it up tomorrow night! I'm renting a uhaul to go to the city and could come pick anything I send with you around 5pm or so. Can you hook a brother up?! If so, I'd owe you big time. If I go, I'm driving my car and not a truck is why I ask. My buddy I usually get the pickup from is bailing on me tomorrow.

Sure, no sweat. Look for me in a burgundy avalanche sweatshirt and burgundy Avalanche hat

I got a King of Dragons in a robotron cabinet for 25 bucks (working, needs monitor cap kit) and an Astyanax in a defender cabinet for a buck(not working).

The robotron cabinet has a bunch of different side art, one side is showing some Bubbles, the other has final fight.

It was great talking with Kevin, Brian, and Lon(?dekdek) . That Frank guy was really cool as well, i talked to him forever and he told me what some of the cheap cabinets originally were.

so i spent 26 bucks and got 2 games, the one dollar game my friend gave me a buck for and it will live at his house once i get it going. There were games no one wanted even for a buck

What didn't people want even for a buck!? I bet it was all stuff I wanted. lol

C'mon, what other games were there? Inquiring minds wanna know!

geez i cant remember, it was like 5 hours ago.
no 720s. A rally X mini that went for 150 (i wish i got that instead of the two big games). i cant think of anything super exciting. hopefully the dude with the list will post all the prices.
all the dollar stuff was broken, i didnt see all the dollar stuff. kevin might know better. a cab he wanted was a buck but you had to take another cab with it, so he pasted

I hope this doesn't reflect the Texas Auction.... I'll be selling stuff there, and really need to recover some of my investment....

Yes, there was. It was quite minty.

...

No, I wasn't there.. just trying to make you feel better ;D

The few xenos they had went for way too much, who would pay 150 for a xenophobe?

just kidding, no xenos. there a guy here in sacto selling an Attaxx thats in a Xenophobe cab for 200.

got both my games up and running this evening, the dollar game just has a power line problem (problem getting 115v to power supply)

Frank is great. He is the guy that repaired my Rip Off monitor.

I would say about 35-40 games went for between $1 and $25.

Everything that was collectable and dedicated (nice or not)shape went for a lot of money. TheJoust there had vram problems and fetched $750. You have to add 20% to that for auction fees and tax.

I bid on a Bride of Pinbot and a Robotron, but the Robotron went for too much, and I didn't want the Pinbot that bad (it went for $650).

The auction we really long. I stuck around until the end to bid on a Space Fury, but they started selling games in pairs to get rid of the ones nobody wanted. I would have had to make a second trip to pick up a crappy pong game. The pair went for $10.

I hope that's not how the Dallas auction goes. I'll probably have a lot of stuff in Dead row.

The viewing started at 8am, auction at 10am. They finished with the games stuff around 4-4:30. So it was a long day. the pinballs took about 2 hours and were in the middle of the arcade games, big break where lots of people left.

My King of Dragons cabinet is a Bubbles cabinet, it has all the side art under the paint. Whats the best way to get off paint from side art? Would one of those heat guns work? you can pick the paint thats over the bubbles sideart off with you finger in little chunks so i wouldnt think chemicals would be needed. When i get time i'll have to also check and see if there is something under the current control panel sticker. looks like its just a overlay.
