I bought a San Francisco Rush a few weeks ago and it needed some repairs. I upgraded it to Rush The Rock edition and then focused on everything else. The steering didn't work (bad potentiometer) and neither did the force feedback. I fixed the steering by replacing the pot and repairing the column turn stop (the wheel would rotate nonstop hence the bad pot). I then read a forum that said that when the force feedback goes bad that it is usually the OPA541AP chips (High Power Monolithic OpAMP). I bought 2 on ebay and replaced them on the steering board. They are screwed directly to the HUGE heatsink. Now the force feedback is working. My problem is that I remember the game having smooth force feeback and my steering seems to be choppy. It feels like turning gears and you can feel the sprokets as you turn (though it uses a belt). Does anyone know if this is typical or if it might be a feedback motor issue? Thanks for any help.

If it is like the Daytona USA, loosen the belts a bit so they are not so tight.
That should take away the feeling of the sprockets I believe.

Not sure what you mean by "choppy." Go into the settings and turn the force feedback down a bit and see if that smooths it out. I know you said you have replaced the pot, but that is usually what causes the wheel to be "choppy," as in yanking back and forth on it's own.

This is normal. I too found it strange feeling at first... you can feel little "bumps" of feedback as you turn... normal.
