I did search the forums and read many of them but didnt really get a solution.

I have 2 RTR cabs im trying to link, they were both OG Rush extreme racing cabs flashed to rush the rock.

When linking them by connecting the factory grey network cable it doesnt register any cable. Ive attached photos to show what im seeing on the screens when i do network tests.

I see people talking about couplers, hubs, switches, etc. but i have no idea what any of that means.. kinda need my hand held through this. I appreciate the help.

I can't speak to your version, but some common checks are to make sure you have a crossover cable (you can tell by looking at the colors of the wires on each end of the cable). If the same color wires are in the same spot, the. It's not a crossover cable.

Sometimes making sure your settings are right. You have different car colors which is good, but maybe the manual says you need to make one cabinet 1 and the other cabinet 2. The other thing to check is that they both are set for the same coinage (freeplay, or one quarter, etc). Also, make sure they are both running the same version software version. I.e. 1.0 vs 1.03. Also, not sure if it's an issue, but they have the same serial # in the pictures. Maybe the serial number has to be different between cabinets? Did you find a manual to read?

I see both of your cabinets have the same serial #, so I assume they both got the same aftermarket upgrade "kit" (chips and drive).

I helped someone reverse engineer the security PIC data a few years ago ( https://github.com/pdaderko/midway_pic_tool )... I don't remember exactly why they were wanting to change the data, but IIRC it was related to multiple cabinets not linking if they have the same S/N. The fact that your cabinets show the same number of transmitted and received packets seems like a good sign on the hardware. From what I remember when my cabinet had linking issues, it would drop a lot of packets, so there'd be many more transmitted than received. You could check this by unplugging the cable during that test... the received count should stop counting.

The first thing I'd do is swap back to the original Rush chips and hard drive and see if they link (verify the hardware is good). If that works, I'd contact the seller that you bought the RTR kit from and describe the problem, explaining that you may need a security PIC with a different S/N for linking.

I still have the rush the rock bits. I will try that. I did some reading and further familiarized myself with network linking and i guess if i run a single cat5e from one cab to the other that will not work. I have to use a crossover coupler, and 2 cat5e cables. The coupler rearranges the wires i guess and makes it where 2 systems can communicate with eachother. It was $6 on amazon. Im going to try that first, and then if that doesnt work ill run the RTR hard drive on one of the cabs. To change the serial numbers. And if that doesnt work ill spend the money on a decent network hub. Kinda at at a loss but im still learning

Bought the cab screen not working from a guy who just bought it from an estate sale in texas. ( im in oklahoma). He's not a technician, or a collector he was just selling as is to make a buck. Had it shipped out to me, and i got it fully operational. Long story short he wont be any further help with this.

Does each machine have a distinct ID # associated with it currently?
I haven't looked at this process in a while but in the setup menu you need to make sure each cabinet has its own number- and I can't recall what else at the moment.
