Sales/Business Down for arcade parts ?

If you sell them mostly at ArcadeShop, then the outdated game list might be part of the problem.
There really needs to be a roll-up pack created for Bitkit/2 with all compatible files and posted on the internet archive. Horizontal & Vertical games, zipped. It would help to sell many more units.

I don't know if others who sell arcade parts or provide services
have experienced a drop in business,
but my eprom sales have fallen off a cliff since November. ...down like 90% !!!

Business has been fairly constant and predictable for years (10-15 orders per month),
but I had 3 orders in November, and so far only ONE for December !

I even tried to drum-up business by offering a Cyber Monday sale on proms,
... but didn't get a SINGLE order !!

Is the hobby drying up ? (...I'm seeing more posts about people getting out of the hobby )
...or are people "wasting" their money on stuff like food and heat ? ;-)

Just curious...

Steph

Steph - you're awesome. I have ordered things from you I think a over decade - some Dragon's Lair chips like 10 years ago and a Galag chip recently. You are organized, professional, know what you are talking about, and pretty much the go-to person.

Don't overthink it. It's a wild, weird world now and most are distracted and living their lives in fear and loathing...

It'll pick up. It's not a doomsday scenario. Shit is weird and odd now. It's not so black and white, even if it seems that way because most people are seeing it that way...

Tariffs? Who cares. It's another distraction while the money grab goes in Washington. Just raise your prices a little - you do the best work anyway and people are going to pay. I will.

Are you mocking me?

There are 114 on your website and 103 on ArcadeShop.

I'm not mocking you, I was questioning if 1 game would really make that much difference as you suggested.

My vendors don't list the Pac bootlegs and some of the alternate variations (like Nibbler 6 and Nibbler 8) to not clutter up the list.

Thats the difference between the Google spreadsheet link and the list on ArcadeShop.

I'll make sure Bosco gets listed on ArcadeShop.

in short: nothing to reverse the last several decades of wage depression

tariffs "work" when there's domestic sources for goods and materials. the historical scenarios commonly cited in favor of tariffs are far outside/beyond the context of today's economy/world. in recent, the term is bandied like "trickle down economics" was decades ago. draw your own conclusions

Not to pour gas on the Fire, but what do you think imposing tariffs (ie. politics) will do to the economy ?

Yep. Can't wait for Reagan 2.0, it worked so well the 1st time

Steph, you're an asset to the hobby. I absolutely have the technical ability to burn my own ROMs but I don't want the hassle of it all. Much easier to just shoot you an email.
I really do think an updated website would help and definitely should have the ability to order stuff outside of writing an email, at least for the most commonly requested items.
