Wanted to find out if anybody had any good ideas on how to safely remove a layer of black spraypaint that someone put over the good art on a dedicated Smash TV? A good product reccomendation would be awesome..

I have used the orange gel citrus stipper with good results. You don't need to leave it set very long for spray paint and it left the side art underneath intact.

Another thumbs up for Citristrip...

depends on the type of paint.

if its spray paint Graffatti remover.
I had a tutorial on this over on COSP but was lost, :(

BAsically its a spray like windex place paper towel(s) over the area and spray it.
the wet towel will "adhere" to the cab trapping the fumage inside wait about 10-15 minettes and it will wipe right off.

thicker layers of paint may take a few passes.

and ALWAYS test smaller areas prior especially with artwork.

Rich, I'll have to try this method...

I picked up a Taito Electric Yo Yo cab recently and was hoping latex was used, alas, it wasn't.

I tried Citristrip on these cabs before and it's way too harsh for the paint on these cabs - just counted my losses.

This Graffitti remover @ Menards are any other of 'home improvement' box stores?

Thanks for the great ideas.

I may post a video up on youtube with my restoration process on this one. I am going to try a little spot with both processes and see which works best.
